In addition to our monthly meetings, members of Zonta Atlanta also attend monthly service projects to help our designated charities in Atlanta. In 2007, we are primarily devoting our service to Refugee Family Services (RFS) and the Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV).

Our service projects range from formal fundraisers to working in gardens and are lots of fun! We have several big events a year to help with fundraising for both groups. This year during Valentine’s Day weekend we helped with Hearts of Hope, the annual black tie fundraiser for PADV. It is formal dinner with a silent auction and a live auction that helps raise the majority of the funds needed for PADV for the year. The club also participated in Taste of the World, the RFS fundraiser. It is multicultural event at the Callanwolde Arts Center. There was food, fashion and dancing from several different countries that the refugees hail from.

When we don’t have a big event planned, we roll up our sleeves and help out in any way we can…..yard work, renovations, and sorting donations or doing whatever is needed.
